Get a Free Used Car

The seller must provide you with a technical inspection report . The latter must be less than 6 months old, and less than 2 months old if a counter-visit has been prescribed.
Thanks to this technical inspection report, you can check the condition of the vehicle and make sure that it corresponds to the car in front of you.
Ask for the maintenance book . It logs all Goodwill car donation program maintenance and repair operations. He must consolidate all garage and spare parts invoices. If the seller does not have such a book, he must still be able to provide you with the invoices.

Check all the documents necessary for the sale
Before buying the used vehicle, remember to check all the documents necessary for the sale  :

• The identity of the seller
• His address
• Vehicle identity
• The registration certificate
• The technical inspection report
• The maintenance book
• The certificate of administrative situation (certificate of non-pledge)
• Certificate of assignment completed by both parties

You must take the time it takes to check the condition of the vehicle and its proper functioning .
Do not hesitate to ask the seller if major repairs have been made. If so, request invoices. Also check how many people have owned the car so far.
Then you can start the inspection of the used car  :

• Exterior  : bodywork, wear and type of tires, underside of the car, operation of the headlights;
• Interior  : engine, trunk, passenger compartment, puncture kit, condition of the tank, comfort controls for example.

You must first carry out a check with the engine off, then a check with the engine on and the vehicle stationary.

Finish with a test of the vehicle for ten minutes and check that it works correctly: noise, odor, controls, dashboard, braking, gear change among others. You have to be attentive to everything.

If during the inspection and testing of the vehicle you find that certain parts are worn, the price of the car must take this into account. Negotiate with your seller if you think the car is too expensive.
