Each year, the automobiles are given away at different Progressive Service Centers around the US. They have 60 of these locations! The event always occurs on in November, near Veteran's Day. Applications are reviewed beginning in May of each year, however, vehicles are awarded throughout the week encompassing Veteran's Day. Below are a few suggestions for making the ideal program! On September 25, 2017, I was contacted by a representative from the Keys to Progress automobile office. They had reviewed my program and she said they actually, actually, really wanted to provide my loved ones a free car... but they just had vehicles with five chairs and my loved ones needed seven chairs. The agent asked if there was any manner we could make a five-seat vehicle work but there really wasn't. Because this is a needs-based giveaway, we refused to accept the vehicle because we knew someone else had a five-seat vehicle over we did. However, that really does mean that I know how to make a winning application! Since I was able to obtain a vehicle a few months later, I'm certainly not going to be entering the giveaway again... and I'd love to share my tips with you that you have greater odds of winning! There are a few things that really helped establish my own program aside from the rest. 1. Tell a story to connect with the reviewer. There are thousands of good, deserving families who are vying for one of those free cars for veterans. Create a persuasive application by encouraging the reviewer into your life for an instant. Tell them a story in order that they get to understand you and your situation. Don't just scrawl"I want it for work" or"I'm having a hard time, i am in need of a free car." Those statements mean different things to different people. Help the reader connect with your desire as much as possible by answering these questions on your statement: What attracted you to this point? Why not you get a reliable vehicle now? What is your everyday life like? How can you function without a trusted automobile? How can one of those free cars for veterans alter your life? What do you see in your future if you win? Add pictures for maximum visual effect. As soon as I completed my program, I assumed that most people would write their excuse in the lines provided in the program. However, the application does state that"you may also send this on your word processor document or email program," so that I took this opportunity to design my statement in Google Docs! Illustrate the story you've crafted in Step One with images. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? I included several photographs in my program, such as family photographs, vehicle photos and also a screenshot of our 2,000+ power bill. At times, simply putting a face to your name may work in your favor when you're completing an application like this. Need assistance? Here is a helpful tutorial on how best to add pictures to Google Docs. Do not hesitate to explain your case... however BE HONEST. Sometimes, we've got a natural propensity to either minimize the severity of our situation or overlook details that are pertinent to a own situation. Do not hesitate to tell that reviewer exactly what landed you in this situation and why you will need the motor vehicle. Lay it all of outside there. If you skip parts, you may lose the car to someone who says their case better. This does NOT mean you should complain or beg at any point in your program! Reviewers do not want to read sob stories but they do want to see credibility. Be real, real and sincere. Don't fake it. I'm sure there are at least a couple of people who lie on these applications. If possible, you can always differentiate yourself from the deceptive crowd by adding screenshots to verify what you are saying. That's why I included a screenshot of our insanely high power invoice in my application! Do not, under any circumstances, forget the announcement! Even if you can't work out how to insert photos or you do not wish to spend the time writing a lengthy announcement, do NOT submit your application without one. The statement is literally the only thing that the reviewers need to consider when deciding who wins a free Cars Help (and who does not). In my view, it's not worth submitting a program at all if you bypass the statement. Comments are closed.
